    Caramelized Banana Split

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 bananas, cut in half, then sliced lengthwise
    • 2 to 3 Tbsp butter
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar (approx.)
    • Splash of Kahlua
    • Vanilla ice cream
    • Ice cream toppings of choice (caramel, strawberry, etc.)
    • Whipped cream
    • Garnishes: maraschino cherries, chopped nuts (optional)


    Instructions


    1. Heat a saute pan over medium-low heat; add butter. When butter is melted, add the bananas and the brown sugar and caramelize, stirring constantly. After bananas have begun to caramelize, add Kahlua to taste and continue stirring to coat thoroughly. The mixture should become syrupy and the bananas slightly tender.

    2. Place the vanilla ice cream in individual serving bowls with the caramelized bananas. Spoon some of the caramelized syrup from the pan over the ice cream. Top with flavored ice cream toppings, whipped cream, and garnishes, if desired.

      Serves 2
