    Sauce: Chocolate Fudge Sauce

    Source of Recipe

From "Handmade Gifts from the Kitchen" by Alison Walker

    Recipe Introduction

"If you can stop yourself eating this rich and decadent chocolate sauce straight from the jar (it's hard, I can tell you!), then it's perfectly joyous melted and poured over ice cream."

    List of Ingredients

    • 1¼ cups heavy cream
    • ½ cup light brown sugar
    • 2 Tbsp corn syrup
    • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
    • 7 ounces semisweet chocolate, broken into pieces
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • A tiny pinch of salt

    Recipe

Put the cream, sugar, syrup, and butter into a pan. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.

Bring to a boil and bubble gently for 4 minutes until thickened. Remove from the heat, add the chocolate, and stir until melted and thoroughly combined.

Stir in the vanilla and salt. Then, pour into sterilized containers, seal, and label. This sauce keeps for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
To use, heat gently in a pan, stirring, until melted.

    Makes about 3½ ounces
