Sauce: Blackberry Sauce
Source of Recipe

Recipe Introduction
"Make this simple sauce with any fresh berries in season; the same formula works for dewberries, raspberries, blueberries, even strawberries. A touch of salt and a hint of lemon juice boost both the sweetness and tartness of the fruit. Spoon it over ice cream, sliced pound cake, or even oatmeal at breakfast."
List of Ingredients
◦ 2 (12-ounce) packages fresh blackberries
◦ ⅓ cup sugar
◦ 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
◦ Pinch of kosher salt
◦ 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
Recipe
Rinse the blackberries well in a colander. Transfer to a small saucepan with the sugar, butter, and salt and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until the berries release some of their juices, the sugar is dissolved, and the fruit has warmed through. (For a thicker sauce, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.)
Stir in the lemon juice. Serve warm or pour into a bowl, cover, refrigerate, and serve cool.
Let any remaining sauce cool, then store in an airtight container, refrigerated, for up to one week. To serve again, reheat, if desired, by microwaving for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
