Sauce: Brandied Cherry Sauce

- 1 pound sweet cherries, pitted
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
Instructions
- In a 2-quart saucepan, combine cherries, brandy, sugar and cornstarch. Over medium heat, cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
- Remove from heat. Stir in almond extract. Serve warm or cover and refrigerate.
Final Comments
Serve over vanilla ice cream, crepes, bread pudding, or pound or sponge cake.
