    Sauce: Chocolate Crème de Menthe Sauce

    List of Ingredients


    • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
    • 1/4 cup crème de menthe liqueur
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract


    Instructions


    1. In a medium saucepan with a heavy bottom, combine the chocolate, milk and butter. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the chocolate and butter melt and the sauce begins to simmer, about 5 minutes.

    2. Remove from heat and stir in the crème de menthe and vanilla. Pour the sauce into a pint jar and let cool to room temperature. Use immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. Warm to room temperature before serving.

      Spoon this delectable dark chocolate topping over vanilla, coffee or peppermint ice cream.

      Makes 1-1/2 cups.
