    Sauce: Cream Caramel Sauce

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 2 Tbsp butter
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream


    Instructions


    1. In a double boiler over boiling water and medium-high heat, combine sugar and corn syrup and cook, stirring, for 10 minutes. Add cream, lower heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.

    2. Add salt, butter and vanilla and cook, stirring, until butter is melted. Serve warm or cold. Store any leftover sauce in the refrigerator for up to a week.

      Makes about 1-1/2 cups.
