    Strawberries Romanoff

    Source of Recipe

From "Williams Sonoma: Cooking at Home" by Chuck Williams

    Recipe Introduction

"The perfect ending to a summer meal, this eye-catching dessert requires a little advance planning. Prepare the berries at least two hours before serving. The macerated berries and the whipped cream are also good spooned between split shortcakes."

    List of Ingredients

    â—¦ 4 cups strawberries
â—¦ ¼ cup fresh orange juice
    â—¦ 2 tablespoons sugar
    â—¦ 2 tablespoons orange liqueur
â—¦ 1 cup vanilla ice cream
    â—¦ 2 cups heavy cream

    Recipe

Stem the strawberries and cut in half lengthwise. Place in a bowl and sprinkle with the orange juice, sugar, and liqueur.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours.

Just before serving, soften the ice cream on the counter for 15 to 20 minutes or in a microwave oven for 15 to 20 seconds. In a bowl, using an electric mixer on medium-high speed, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Add the softened ice cream and beat until blended.

Divide the strawberries and their juices among individual bowls. Top each serving with a generous amount of the ice cream mixture and serve right away.

    Makes 8 servings
