Strawberry Sundaes

- 6 cups whole strawberries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp orange-flavored liqueur (optional)
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 3 cups strawberry ice cream
Instructions
- In a blender, whirl about 1-1/2 cups of the strawberries until pureed. You should have 1 cup strawberry puree. Pour through a sieve to remove seeds. Stir 1/4 cup of the sugar, along with liqueur, into puree and mix well; cover and chill.
- Set aside 8 whole berries for garnish. Slice remaining berries and sweeten with remaining 1/4 cup sugar; cover and chill.
- Just before serving, whip cream until thick. Sweeten with the 1 tablespoon sugar.
- For each serving, place a scoop of strawberry ice cream in a small dessert bowl or goblet. Spoon about 1/2 cup sliced strawberries over ice cream and drizzle with about 2 tablespoons chilled strawberry sauce. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a whole strawberry.
Makes 8 servings.
