Native American: Pacific Salmon Chowder

List of Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 4 medium-size white potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1/2 tsp dried dill weed
- 1/4 tsp dill seed
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 lb. salmon fillet, skinned and cut into chunks
Instructions
- In a large pan, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and green onions; saute 3 minutes. Add the flour and stir 2 minutes.
- Add the potatoes, dill weed and seed, the milk, salt and pepper. Simmer over low heat 40 minutes.
- Add the salmon and simmer an additional 10 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through. Adjust the seasonings and serve.
Makes 6 servings.
