    Crab: Deviled Crab

    List of Ingredients


    • ¾ cup chopped celery
    • ¾ cup chopped onion
    • ¼ cup chopped red bell pepper
    • â…“ cup butter, melted
    • 1 pound fresh lump crabmeat, drained
    • 1 cup saltine cracker crumbs, divided
    • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley
    • ¼ cup whipping cream
    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
    • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
    • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • ½ teaspoon hot sauce
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
    • Paprika
    • Lemon wedges (optional)


    Instructions


    1. Cook first three ingredients in â…“ cup butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until tender. Remove from heat. Gently stir in crabmeat, ¾ cup cracker crumbs, and parsley.

    2. Combine whipping cream and next five ingredients; gently stir into crabmeat mixture. Spoon into six baking shells or individual baking dishes.

    3. Brown remaining ¼ cup cracker crumbs in 1 tablespoon butter in a small skillet over medium heat, stirring often. Sprinkle each serving with cracker crumbs and paprika.

      Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Serve with lemon wedges, if desired.

      Makes 6 servings
