Shrimp: Old Bay Shrimp Fest

List of Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Old Bay seasoning, plus more for sprinkling (divided)
- 2 Tbsp salt
- 1 (12-ounce) can beer
- 8 medium-size red potatoes, cut into quarters
- 2 large sweet onions, cut into wedges
- 2 lbs. lean smoked sausage, cut into 2-inch lengths
- 8 ears fresh corn, shucked, broken in half
- 4 lbs. large shrimp, shells on
Instructions
- In an 8-quart stockpot, bring 1/2 cup of Old Bay, salt, 4 quarts of water, and the beer to a boil.
- Add the potatoes and onions; cook over high heat for 8 minutes. Add the smoked sausage to the pot; continue to cook on high for 5 minutes. Add the corn; continue to boil for 7 minutes. Add the shrimp in their shells; cook for 4 minutes.
- Drain the cooking liquid and pour the contents of the pot into several large bowls, shallow pails, or simply mound on a paper-covered picnic table. Sprinkle with additional Old Bay, if desired.
Makes 8 servings.
