    Peaches in Red Wine

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups red wine
    • 3 Tbsp sugar
    • 1 cinnamon stick
    • 1 (2-inch) piece of lemon peel
    • 4 large ripe peaches (or 5 nectarines), cut into eighths


    Instructions


    1. In a small saucepan, heat 1/2 cup red wine with sugar, cinnamon stick, and lemon peel. When sugar has dissolved, remove from heat and set pan in a bowl of ice water for a few minutes, until cool. Add remaining wine.

    2. Place peaches in a large Mason jar and cover with wine mixture. Chill.

      Serve with your favorite cookies.
