"You'll need just a handful of items to put together these incredible sandwiches. Fully cooked sausages are placed in buns with cheese and topped with giardiniera, then wrapped in foil so they're easy to transport and a breeze to grill — anywhere!"
List of Ingredients
â—¦ ½ cup giardiniera, drained
â—¦ ½ teaspoon sugar
â—¦ 4 slices provolone cheese
â—¦ 4 brat buns or hot dog buns, split
â—¦ 4 cooked Italian sausage links
â—¦ Additional giardiniera, optional
Recipe
In a bowl, combine giardiniera and sugar; set mixture aside.
Place cheese in buns; top with sausages and giardiniera mixture. Wrap individually in a double thickness of heavy-duty foil (about 12x10-inch). Grill, uncovered, over medium-hot heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted.
Open the foil carefully to allow steam to escape. If desired, serve with additional giardiniera.
Makes 4 servings
• Giardiniera, a pickled vegetable mixture, is available in mild and hot varieties and can be found in the Italian or pickle section of your grocery store.
