    Candy Cane Bath Salts

    Source of Recipe

From "Natural Beauty for All Seasons" by Janice Cox

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 cups Epsom salts
    • ½ cup rock salt
    • 4 to 6 drops essential oil of peppermint
    • 2 to 3 drops red food coloring

    Instructions

    1. Place 1 cup of the Epsom salts and ¼ cup of rock salt in a mixing bowl or resealable plastic bag. Add 2 or 3 drops of peppermint oil and mix until evenly distributed.

    2. Place the remaining 1 cup of Epsom salts and ¼ cup of rock salt in a separate bowl or bag. Add food coloring and mix until the color is a pleasant shade of red. Add 2 to 3 drops of peppermint oil and mix well.

    3. In a large jar, layer the white salts and red salts. You want to create a candy cane-striped effect. Put the lid on the container, tie a bow around the jar, and add real candy canes. A truly great gift idea!

      Yield: 20 ounces
