Christmas: Christmas Spritz Cookies

• 1 cup butter, softened
  
• 1 cup sugar
  
• 2 large eggs
  
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
  
• 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  
• 1/8 tsp salt
  
• 10 drops yellow liquid food coloring
  
• Red and green decorator candies
  






Instructions



1. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar; beat well. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until blended. Combine flour and salt, and add to butter mixture, beating at low speed until blended. Add food coloring, beating until blended.
   
   
2. Fit cookie press with desired-shaped disk, following manufacturer's instructions. Press dough into 1½-inch cookies on ungreased baking sheets; sprinkle with candies.
   
   
3. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
   
   
   Makes about 8 dozen.
