    Source of Recipe

    Southern Lady: "Christmas Made Easy"

    List of Ingredients

    • ¾ cup milk
    • ¾ cup water
    • ½ cup sugar
    • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
    • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh chives
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 2 (.25-ounce) packages active dry yeast
    • 2 large eggs
    • 7¼ cups sifted bread flour, divided
    • 14 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted, divided

    Instructions

    1. In a small saucepan, combine milk, water, sugar, parsley, chives and salt over medium heat and mix in yeast and eggs. In a large bowl, lightly stir together flour and yeast mixture. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

    2. Stir in 8 tablespoons melted butter. Add another 1½ cups flour and mix well. Cover and let rise for an additional 30 minutes.

    3. Remove dough from bowl and knead in ¾ cup flour for 3 minutes. Divide dough into 16 equal pieces. Shape into balls and place on lightly greased baking sheets. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for an additional 30 minutes.

    4. Preheat oven to 400° F.
Remove plastic wrap. Bake rolls for 12 to 15 minutes, or until light brown.

    5. Remove from oven and brush with remaining 6 tablespoons melted butter.

      Makes 16 rolls.
