Christmas: Kentucky-Style Eggnog

- 6 large eggs, separated
- 1 cup sugar, divided
- 1 cup bourbon
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- Garnish: freshly ground nutmeg
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat egg whites at high speed with an electric mixer until just stiff. Gradually add 1/3 cup sugar, beating until combined.
- In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and 1/3 cup sugar at medium speed until combined. Slowly add bourbon, beating until smooth. Gently fold in egg whites.
- In a large bowl, beat cream at high speed until almost stiff; add remaining 1/3 cup sugar, and beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in egg mixture. Stir in milk. Garnish with nutmeg, if desired.
Makes about 6 to 8 servings.
