    Easter: Crispy Marshmallow Eggs

    List of Ingredients


    • 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
    • 1 (10-oz.) pkg. marshmallows
    • Food coloring
    • 6 cups toasted rice cereal
    • Nonstick cooking spray
    • Candy sprinkles, if desired
    • .

    • Colored plastic wrap
    • Ribbon
    • Empty egg carton(s)


    Instructions


    1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add the marshmallows; stir until melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.

    2. For colored eggs, add food coloring for desired shade. Immediately add the toasted rice cereal; mix lightly until well coated.

    3. Spray hands with nonstick cooking spray. Working quickly, shape mixture into 18 "eggs." Roll eggs in sprinkles, if desired. Place each "egg" on a 12-inch sheet of colored plastic wrap, twist to seal and tie with ribbon.

      Decorate an empty egg carton as desired, and fill with the wrapped "eggs."
