Labor Day: Barbecue Beans *

List of Ingredients
- 5 slices bacon
- ½ medium onion, chopped
- 2/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- ¾ cup barbecue sauce
- 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15-ounce) can butter beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15-ounce) can pork and beans, undrained
- 2 Tbsp molasses
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp chili powder
Instructions
- Cook bacon in a Dutch oven until crisp; drain and crumble.
- Cook onion in bacon drippings to soften. Stir in bacon and all remaining ingredients. Spoon into a 2-quart baking dish. Chill for 8 hours or overnight, if desired.
- Bake bean mixture at 350° F for 1 hour, stirring once.
Makes 10 servings.
