New Year's: Marcelle's Milk Punch

List of Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 ml) bourbon
- 3 quarts half-and-half
- 4 Tbsp vanilla extract
- Simple Syrup (recipe follows)
- Grated nutmeg
Instructions
- Combine the bourbon, half-and-half and vanilla in a gallon container. Add as much syrup as you need to attain the desired sweetness. Chill thoroughly.
Pour into chilled glasses, sprinkle with grated nutmeg and serve.
SIMPLE SYRUP: Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Stir and boil until the sugar dissolves and the liquid becomes slightly syrupy. Cool completely before using. (The syrup will keep indefinitely in the refrigerator.)
