    Oktoberfest: Bratwurst in Sauerkraut

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pound fresh (uncooked) bratwurst (4 to 5 sausages)
    • 1 can or bag (14 ounces) sauerkraut
    • 1 cup frozen pearl onions
    • 1 cup light-colored beer, such as lager


    Instructions


    1. Spray large nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
      Add bratwurst; cook over medium-high heat until brown on all sides, about 4 minutes per side.

    2. Add sauerkraut, onions and beer to skillet; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium; cover and simmer 10 to 15 minutes, or until bratwurst is cooked through. Serve on rolls with mustard, or with a side dish of boiled potatoes.

      Makes 4 servings.
