Labor Day: Classic Creamy Slaw

- Dressing:
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp celery seed
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper

- Slaw:
- ½ small head green cabbage, thinly sliced (4 cups)
- 2 cups coarsely grated carrots
- 1 cup finely diced red bell pepper
- ½ cup roughly chopped fresh Italian parsley leaves
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the dressing ingredients, including ¾ teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon pepper, and whisk until the sugar and salt are dissolved.
- Add the slaw ingredients and mix well. Taste, and add more salt and pepper, if desired. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, at least 2 hours or up to one day.
- Before serving, drain the coleslaw in a colander and then transfer to a serving bowl.
Serves 6 to 8
