    Thanksgiving Day-After: Turkey à la King

    From "Sunday Dinner at Grandma's" (Gooseberry Patch)

    List of Ingredients


    • ½ cup sliced mushrooms
    • ¼ cup butter
    • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
    • 2 cups chicken broth
    • 1 cup whipping cream
    • 2 cups cooked turkey, cubed
    • 2/3 cup frozen peas, thawed
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 6 to 8 frozen puff pastry shells, baked


    Instructions


    1. In a skillet over medium-low heat, sauté mushrooms in butter until tender. Stir in flour until smooth.

    2. Whisk in broth; cook and stir until slightly thickened. Stir in remaining ingredients except puff pastry shells.

    3. Reduce heat to low; cook until thickened. Serve spooned into shells.

      Serves 6 to 8
