    Orange Sherbet

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 quart orange juice, mango-orange-peach juice, or similar
    • Scant 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1 cup half-and-half
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


    Instructions


    1. In a small saucepan, cook 1 cup of the orange juice and the sugar until the sugar crystals dissolve.

    2. Set mixture aside to cool, then whisk in the remaining ingredients.

    3. Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker, and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. Put the finished sherbet in a storage container and freeze until firm.

      Makes 6 cups,
      12 servings.
