    Clara Bliss's Caramel Corn

    Source of Recipe

From "Hungry for Home" by Amy T. Rogers

    List of Ingredients

    • Popped corn, enough to fill two 9- x 13-inch pans
    • 2 cups brown sugar
    • 2 sticks margarine
    • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1 tsp baking soda

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 200°F. Grease two 9- x 13-inch pans and set aside.

    2. Put the popped corn in a big bowl. Combine the sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt in a saucepan, bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat, add soda and vanilla; then stir. Pour over popped corn and stir to coat.

    3. Divide the coated popped corn into the two pans. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

      Makes about 8 servings.
