    Garlic Oven Fries

    List of Ingredients


    • Cooking spray
    • 4 medium red potatoes (2½- to 3-inch)
    • 2 tsp olive or vegetable oil
    • 1 tsp dried basil leaves
    • 1 tsp garlic salt


    Instructions


    1. Heat the oven to 500° F. Scrub the potatoes with a vegetable brush. Cut each potato lengthwise into 8 wedges on the cutting board, using a sharp knife.

    2. Put potatoes into a medium mixing bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over potatoes. Toss potatoes with a wooden spoon to coat them with oil. Sprinkle potatoes with the basil and garlic salt.

    3. Spread potatoes in a single layer in a 15- x 10-inch pan with sides that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake for 8 minutes. Stir potatoes with spoon and bake for 7 to 10 minutes longer, or until they are a little soft but crisp on the outside. Use pot holders to take the pan out of the oven.

      Serves 4
