Oatmeal with Kisses

Recipe Introduction

"Last Christmas, the breakfast menu for my family of 26 included this special twist on hot oatmeal. It can be difficult to entice the grandkids to eat oatmeal, so I decided to place a Hershey's chocolate kiss at the bottom of each bowl. They loved it, and so did their parents! Don't forget to unwrap the chocolate kiss."

List of Ingredients

• 1½ cups milk
• 1½ cups oatmeal
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 Tbsp brown sugar
• Mini chocolate chips to sprinkle over the top (optional)



Recipe


1. Heat the milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it simmers.

2. Add the oatmeal and salt and bring to a boil. Turn down the heat, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes, or according to package directions.

3. Unwrap the chocolate kisses and put at the bottom of 4 bowls. Divide the oatmeal among the bowls and sprinkle with brown sugar and the optional mini chocolate chips (and call them mini kisses).
