List of Ingredients
- 12 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch salt
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 1 loaf challah bread, sliced
Instructions
- Mix together the eggs, milk, cream, butter, vanilla, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl.
- Pour the maple syrup into the bottom of a 9- x 15-inch baking dish. Place the slices of bread on top of the maple syrup, tightly placing them next to each other. Pour the egg mixture on top. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, turn the oven on to 350°F. Put the French toast in the oven and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. It's done when you see a lovely brown toasty topping. And the fragrance fills the air.
Serves a lot of kids,
or 10 toddlers and 4 parents.
