List of Ingredients
- 1 cup plain (or vanilla) nonfat yogurt
- 1/2 cup skim milk
- 2 medium peaches or nectarines, sliced (about 2 cups)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, or 1 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries, partially thawed
- 1 banana, sliced *
- 1 Tbsp wheat germ (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon or nutmeg
- 4 ice cubes
- Fresh mint sprigs and strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the yogurt, milk, peaches, strawberries, banana, wheat germ if using, vanilla and cinnamon. Add the ice cubes.
- Blend until smooth and foamy, about 30 seconds. If mixture is too thick, add a few more ice cubes and blend until smooth.
Pour mixture into chilled glasses. Garnish with mint sprigs and berries, and serve.
Serves 4
Final Comments
* For an extra-frosty shake, use frozen bananas. Freeze peeled chunks of banana, uncovered, on a baking sheet. Place in a freezer bag; freeze for up to 2 days.
