    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup plain (or vanilla) nonfat yogurt
    • 1/2 cup skim milk
    • 2 medium peaches or nectarines, sliced (about 2 cups)
    • 1 cup fresh strawberries, or 1 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries, partially thawed
    • 1 banana, sliced *
    • 1 Tbsp wheat germ (optional)
    • 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract
    • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon or nutmeg
    • 4 ice cubes
    • Fresh mint sprigs and strawberries for garnish


    Instructions


    1. In a blender, combine the yogurt, milk, peaches, strawberries, banana, wheat germ if using, vanilla and cinnamon. Add the ice cubes.

    2. Blend until smooth and foamy, about 30 seconds. If mixture is too thick, add a few more ice cubes and blend until smooth.

      Pour mixture into chilled glasses. Garnish with mint sprigs and berries, and serve.

      Serves 4



    Final Comments


    * For an extra-frosty shake, use frozen bananas. Freeze peeled chunks of banana, uncovered, on a baking sheet. Place in a freezer bag; freeze for up to 2 days.

    Per Serving: 120 calories (3% from fat), 25 g carbohydrates, 5 g protein, 60 mg sodium, 1 g fat, 2 mg cholesterol.
