    Mary Helen's Beef Brisket

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 tsp celery salt
    • 1 tsp onion salt
    • 1 tsp garlic salt
    • One (5-pound) brisket, trimmed of fat
    • 1/3 cup Liquid Smoke
    • 4 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce with garlic


    Instructions


    1. Combine celery, onion and garlic salts, and rub into meat. Place meat in a large glass casserole dish and pour Liquid Smoke over. Cover tightly and marinate overnight.

    2. About 7 to 8 hours before serving time, brush brisket with Worcestershire and barbecue sauce. Cover with foil and cook in a 275º F oven for 5 hours. Uncover and cook 1 hour longer.

    3. Remove from oven and allow brisket to rest about 30 minutes before slicing. While it cools, pour liquids from casserole dish into a saucepan; heat to serve with the sliced meat.

      Serves 8 to 10
