Recipe Introduction
"If the big, bone-in city ham is too much, here's a simple alternative that gives you all the glory of ham without quite as much falderal."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ 1 (5-pound) boneless ham
â—¦ ½ cup Dijon mustard
â—¦ ½ cup honey
â—¦ ½ cup packed light brown sugar
â—¦ ¼ cup bourbon
Recipe
Spray the crock of a 7- to 8-quart slow cooker with baking spray.
Use a sharp knife to score a diamond pattern in the top of the ham, about 1 inch deep and ¼ inch apart. Place the ham in the slow cooker. Mix the mustard, honey, brown sugar, and bourbon together in a small bowl until smooth and pour over the ham. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140° F.
Remove the ham from the slow cooker and cover with foil. Let rest for 10 to 15 minutes before serving. The ham can be served warm or at room temperature. It's excellent served with Sweet Hot Southern Mustard.
