- 3 lbs meaty spareribs
- 1 (13-1/4 oz.) can pineapple chunks with juice
- 1 green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 pieces preserved ginger, slivered
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
- Cut spareribs into 2 or 3 rib sections and brown in a 350-degree oven for one hour, pouring off excess fat frequently.
- Mix pineapple, juice, and green pepper. Blend in the brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, salt, and soy sauce; add ginger.
- Pour pineapple sauce over ribs and bake for an additional 30 minutes, basting often.
Makes 3 to 4 servings.
