List of Ingredients
- 1-1/3 cups sugar
- Dash of salt
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix sugar, salt, and cocoa in saucepan.
Add enough water to make a paste, then add remaining water. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Boil 3 minutes, continuing to stir, then add vanilla. Pour at once into heat-proof jar. Let cool, then cover and refrigerate.
Makes about 2 cups.

Syrup can be used as a topping for desserts, or to make chocolate-flavored drinks.
