Homemade Cornbread Mix

- â…” cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup yellow cornmeal
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk in the oil. Use immediately.
Makes the equivalent of an 8.5-ounce box
• Cooking Tip:
The flour mixture without the oil added to it will store for several weeks, tightly sealed, in your cabinet. When ready to use, whisk the vegetable oil into the dry mix. Use in your recipe just as you would a box of cornbread mix.
