Source of Recipe

List of Ingredients
- 5-1/2 cups cubed sourdough * (day-old bread is great)
- 1-1/2 cups heavy cream
- 2 ounces butter
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua)
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1-1/2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Pour cream over bread cubes in bowl and let soak for one-half hour.
- Melt butter in a saucepan; add raisins and coffee liqueur. Flame off alcohol. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Pour butter mixture into egg mixture and whisk smooth.
- Pour over bread and gently mix. Spoon into individual (ovenproof) dishes and cook for 1- to 1-1/2 hours in 350-degree (F) oven. Time will vary with ovens and cooking dishes.
* Use cinnamon rolls or other sweet bread in place of the sourdough. It surely adds more fat and calories, but with this dessert, you'd better not be counting anyway!
