Grilled Salmon and Walla Walla Sweets

List of Ingredients
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp fresh or dried dill
- 4 (6- to 8-oz. each) salmon steaks, about 1 inch thick *
- Salt
- Freshly ground pepper
- 2 Walla Walla sweet onions, sliced 3/4 inch thick
- Oil
- Lemon wedges
Instructions
- Combine the butter, lemon juice and dill in a shallow dish. Season the salmon with salt and pepper, and arrange in the dish with the onions, coating both sides. Marinate 1/2 hour at room temperature or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator. (Butter will solidify.)
- Prepare a barbecue fire and place the grilling rack 4 to 6 inches from the heat. Brush the hot grill with oil.
- Place the salmon and onions on the grill, reserving the marinade. Grill the fish and onions, turning once and brushing with the marinade, 8 to 10 minutes or until fish just begins to flake.
Transfer to a platter and garnish with lemon wedges.

* For this recipe, choose Chinook (also known as King), silver (Coho), or deep red sockeye steaks to team with Walla Walla sweet onions.
