Cats: Beefy Oats for Cats

List of Ingredients
- 3 cups raw rolled oats (or 4½ cups cooked oatmeal)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 pounds (4 cups) ground lean beef heart (or lean chuck, lean hamburger, liver, kidney, or other lean red meats)
- 4 Tbsp Healthy Powder (recipe follows)
- 1 Tbsp calcium supplement (or 1½ tsp powdered eggshell)
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil or butter
- 10,000 IU vitamin A
- 100 to 200 IU vitamin E
- 1 Tbsp fresh vegetable with each meal (optional)
- 500 mg taurine supplement (optional)
Instructions
- Bring 6 cups water to a boil. Add the oats, cover, and turn off the heat, letting the oats cook in the hot water for about 10 minutes or until soft. Then stir in the eggs, letting them set slightly for a few minutes.
Mix in the remaining ingredients. (Immediately freeze whatever cannot be eaten in the next 2 to 3 days.)
Makes about 9 to 10 cups.
DAILY RATION (in cups)
About ½ cup for small cats; a scant cup for medium-sized cats; and about 1-1/3 cups for large cats.

HEALTHY POWDER
• 2 cups nutritional or brewer's yeast
• 1 cup lecithin granules
• ¼ cup kelp powder
• 4 Tbsp Group I bone meal powder
• 1000 mg vitamin C (or ¼ tsp sodium ascorbate), optional
Mix all ingredients together in a 1 quart container and refrigerate. Add to each recipe as instructed. You may also add this mixture to commercial food as follows: 1 to 2 teaspoons per day for cats.
