Dogs: Gingerbread Mailmen

List of Ingredients
- ½ cup molasses
- 2 Tbsp honey
- ½ cup water
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- 2 Tbsp grated fresh ginger (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine molasses, honey, water and oil. In another bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt. Stir flour mixture slowly into molasses, mixing well with a wooden spoon. Divide dough in half, shape each piece into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate several hours.
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a baking sheet. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough ¼-inch thick. Cut into shapes with cookie cutter and transfer to baking sheet.
- Bake 10 to 15 minutes, or until firm and lightly browned around the edges.
Makes 12 large or 24 to 30 small cookies.
