Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

Recipe Introduction
"Strawberries keep best if they are unwashed and have their stems on. For these luscious dipped strawberries, keep the green hulls on also."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted
â—¦ 3 tablespoons Grand Marnier liqueur
â—¦ 2 tablespoons butter, melted
â—¦ ¼ cup confectioners' sugar
â—¦ 1 tablespoon water
â—¦ Selected large fresh strawberries
Recipe
Combine the chocolate, Grand Marnier, and butter in a small bowl and whisk together. Add the confectioners' sugar and water and continue whisking until smooth.
Just before dipping berries, rinse them and gently pat them dry with paper towels. Lay a piece of wax paper on a work surface.
Dip the strawberries about three-quarters of the way into the chocolate. Let them drain on the wax paper and sit until the chocolate has set. Pack them carefully in a small lidded tin, lined with wax paper. They don't keep for long — make them the day you plan to have your picnic.
Makes 1 cup
• Don't let the chocolate get hot; around 110° F is perfect. A microwave oven is useful for this step.
• Strawberries can absorb water if washed and then stored in the refrigerator. They remain fresher with the hulls on, too!
