    Strawberry Lemonade

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 ½ cups fresh lemon juice (about 5 to 6 lemons), divided
    • 1 ½ cups strawberries, trimmed and halved
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 4 cups cold water


    Instructions


    1. Juice lemons into a measuring cup, keeping as many seeds out as possible.

    2. Purée strawberries with 2 tablespoons lemon juice in a blender until smooth, then use a wooden spoon to force mixture through a fine sieve into a bowl to remove seeds.

    3. Mix together purée, remaining lemon juice, sugar, and water in a large pitcher until sugar is dissolved. Taste and add more sugar or water to desired flavor. Serve over ice.

      Makes four (12- to 16-ounce) servings



    Final Comments


    Can be prepared ahead of time and stored in a refrigerated, airtight pitcher for up to three days.
