    Bourbon Walnut Pie

    • -- Crust --
    • 1-1/2 cups ground graham crackers (about 9 whole graham crackers)
    • 2 Tbsp sugar
    • 5 Tbsp butter, melted
    • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
    • .
    • -- Filling --
    • 1 cup walnuts, toasted, chopped (divided)
    • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
    • 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
    • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted
    • 3 large eggs
    • 3 Tbsp bourbon
    • 1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • .
    • Whipped cream


    Instructions


    1. For crust:
      Preheat oven to 325° F. Mix ground graham crackers and 2 tablespoons sugar in medium bowl. Add melted butter; stir until well blended. Press crust onto bottom and up sides of 9-inch diameter glass pie dish. Bake until crust is set and beginning to brown, about 15 minutes. Remove crust from oven; sprinkle 1/4 cup chocolate chips over bottom of crust. Let stand 3 minutes to soften. Using back of spoon, spread chocolate over bottom and up sides of crust. Chill 15 minutes to set chocolate. Maintain oven temperature.

    2. For filling:
      Sprinkle 1/2 cup walnuts and 1/4 cup chocolate chips over bottom of crust. Whisk brown sugar and next 6 ingredients in medium bowl to blend. Pour into pie crust. Sprinkle remaining walnuts over filling.

    3. Bake pie until filling is set in center, about 37 minutes. Cool pie completely on rack. Cut into wedges and serve with whipped cream.

      Makes 10 servings.
