Tony's Amazing Chicken

List of Ingredients
- 1 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 Tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp mushroom soy sauce or additional regular soy sauce
- 4 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 2-1/2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces
- 20 dried Thai chile peppers
- 6 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup Szechwan peppercorns, toasted and ground *
- .
- Cooked rice or noodles
Instructions
- Mix soy sauce, broth, hoisin sauce, sugar and mushroom soy sauce in a bowl; set aside.
- Heat oil in a wok or skillet over high heat and add chicken; cook 2 minutes. Add chiles and green onions; cook 1 minute.
- Stir in ground peppercorns and soy sauce mixture; heat to a boil. Cook 2 minutes. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
Makes 4 servings.
* Toast peppercorns in a hot skillet until fragrant, 3 minutes. Grind in a clean coffee grinder or with a mortar and pestle.
