    Caramelized Ham and Swiss Buns

    "My next-door neighbor shared this recipe with me, and I simply cannot improve it! You can make it ahead and cook it quickly when company arrives. It's so delicious."

    List of Ingredients

    â—¦ 1 package (18 ounces) Hawaiian sweet rolls
    â—¦ ½ cup horseradish sauce
    â—¦ ¾ pound sliced deli ham
    â—¦ 6 slices Swiss cheese, halved
    â—¦ ½ cup butter, cubed
    â—¦ 2 Tbsp finely chopped onion
    â—¦ 2 Tbsp brown sugar
    â—¦ 1 Tbsp spicy brown mustard
    â—¦ 2 tsp poppy seeds
    â—¦ 1½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
    â—¦ ¼ tsp garlic powder

    Recipe

    Spread cut side of roll bottoms with horseradish sauce.
    Layer with ham and cheese; replace tops. Arrange in a single layer in a greased 13x9-inch baking pan.

    In a small skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add the onion; cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes or until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over rolls. Refrigerate, covered, several hours or overnight.

    Preheat oven to 350° F.
    Bake, covered, 25 minutes. Bake, uncovered, 5 to 10 minutes longer or until golden brown.


    Makes 1 dozen


    PREP: 25 minutes
    Bake: 30 minutes
