    Hearty Cheddar Chili con Carne

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 lb. lean ground beef (or turkey, if you prefer)
    • 1 Tbsp chili powder
    • 2 cans (15-1/2 oz. each) chili beans in spicy sauce, undrained
    • 1 can (14-1/2 oz.) seasoned diced tomatoes, undrained
    • 1/2 cup salsa (plus additional for serving, if desired)
    • 2 cups (8 oz.) shredded mild Cheddar cheese, divided
    • Sour cream, optional
    • Fresh cilantro, optional


    Instructions


    1. Cook meat in large saucepan over medium heat until browned, stirring often; pour off drippings. Sprinkle chili powder over meat. Stir in chili beans, tomatoes, and salsa. Cover; heat to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes.

    2. Stir 1 cup of the cheese into chili; ladle into bowls. Top each serving with remaining cheese.

      Serve with sour cream, salsa, and cilantro, if desired.

      Serves 4;
      Ready in 20 minutes.
