    BLT Layered Salad

    From "Farm Fresh Southern Cooking" by Tammy Algood

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • 1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
    • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
    • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
    • ½ tsp garlic salt
    • ½ tsp black pepper
    • 1 head iceberg lettuce, washed and torn into pieces
    • 1 pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
    • 6 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
    • 3 cups plain croutons


    Instructions


    1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, juice, basil, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth and set aside.

    2. Layer the lettuce, bacon, and tomatoes in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Evenly spread the mayonnaise mixture over the top. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

    3. Sprinkle with croutons just before serving.

      Makes 8 servings
