"For the perfect summer salad, try chopped iceberg lettuce, chopped avocado, grated carrot, and sliced cucumber. Toss with this sweet-sour dressing and sit back for the compliments. Catalina dressing is terrific on most green salads."

â—¦ ½ cup sugar
â—¦ ½ cup ketchup
â—¦ 1 small onion, grated
â—¦ ¼ cup cider vinegar
â—¦ ½ teaspoon salt
â—¦ Pinch of black pepper
â—¦ 1 cup olive oil
Recipe
Whisk together the sugar, ketchup, onion, vinegar, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Slowly whisk in the oil until the dressing is smooth.
Let stand for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Serve immediately or chilled. Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
