    Lorene's Famous Blender Slaw

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 large head cabbage (discard outer leaves), about 4 pounds
    • ½ cup chopped carrot
    • ¼ cup chopped sweet onion
    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • 1½ tsp salt
    • ½ tsp ground black pepper


    Instructions


    1. Cut cabbage into sixths; remove core. Cut each section into quarters.

    2. Place a portion of the cabbage in a blender until full; cover with water. Pulse 8 to 10 times, or until cabbage is finely chopped. Pour into a fine sieve to drain. Repeat with remaining cabbage, adding the carrot and onion to one batch on the bottom of the blender. Squeeze cabbage until dry.

    3. Combine prepared cabbage mixture, mayonnaise, salt and pepper in a large bowl, mixing well. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.

      Makes 8 to 10 servings
      (about 5 cups)
