    Mushroom-Wine Sauce

    From "The All New Ultimate Southern Living Cookbook"

    List of Ingredients


    • ½ cup butter
    • 12 shallots, chopped
    • 4 green onions, chopped
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 1 (8-ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
    • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
    • 2 (10¾-ounce) cans beef consommé
    • ½ cup dry red wine


    Instructions


    1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    2. Add shallots, green onions, and garlic; sauté 2 minutes. Add mushrooms; sauté 5 minutes.

    3. Add flour, and cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Gradually stir in consommé and wine. Cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

      Makes 4 cups
