    Quick and Spicy Cocktail Sauce

    Source of Recipe

From "Big Food Big Love" by Heather Earnhardt

    Recipe Introduction

"This cocktail sauce is easy to make and keeps in the fridge for two weeks. It's great with any fried fish, oysters, and especially shrimp."

    List of Ingredients

    ◦ 1 cup ketchup, such as Heinz
    ◦ Juice from 1 large lemon
    ◦ 2 tablespoons horseradish sauce (I prefer creamed horseradish)
    ◦ 1 teaspoon Texas Pete or Crystal hot sauce
    ◦ Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

    Recipe

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, lemon juice, horseradish sauce, and hot sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

If the sauce is too spicy for your taste, add a touch more ketchup to mellow the flavor. Serve chilled. Store the cocktail sauce in a lidded glass jar in the refrigerator; it will keep for up to two weeks.

    Makes 1 cup
