    Steak Sauce

    From "Lauren Groveman's Kitchen"


    List of Ingredients


    • 2/3 cup bottled chili sauce
    • 1 Tbsp cider vinegar
    • 1 Tbsp packed brown sugar
    • 1 Tbsp molasses
    • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    • Freshly ground black pepper to taste


    Instructions


    1. Combine the chili sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, molasses and Worcestershire in a small non-reactive saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring mixture to a simmer and reduce the heat to low. Simmer gently, uncovered, until flavors have combined and mixture has thickened, about 10 minutes.

    2. Remove from the heat and add a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper. Let cool slightly before serving, or serve at room temperature.

      Store remaining sauce well-covered in the refrigerator, but bring to room temperature before serving.

      Makes about 2/3 cup.
